LOL....thats funny. I just bought a D-Link ADSL2+ modem router for about the same price. and it was NEW. =P.

If you want to sell, you need to really check the market for the current pricings.

Just an advice. =P

Well if you do think that your D-Link Modem is as good as a Linksys Modem,
then of course you will find your choice a better one.
Its good if you like your modem.

Thanks

Hmmm, I may be a noob. But lets discuss this. I'm really interested in learning from you.

Linksys , Cisco.
D - Link......

I asked a few friends of mine working in the networking industry and they told me something about Linksys in general. Not specifically your model le.

They said Linksys normally the router signal damn high. In fact higher by 2 or 3 times. But compared to D- Link, Linksys has LOTS of firmware and heat problem.

Also, ain't your model quite old. ( I said model not modem ). They had it like 3-4 years back if I remember correctly your model.

And just to clarify, does your WAG54G have a 4-port switch? And access point?

Hope we can discuss this in further detail. Really interested in knowing more about networking stuff.

Also, what did you upgrade to?

Sure, no problem.

Well i bought this modem and have been using it for 3 years and never got a single problem.
It does not heat up or had any firmware problem.
I also upgraded the firmware without any problem.
The modem has 4-port switch and access point as well.
When i bought it, it was the best modem on the market and cost Rm430 and had 3 years warranty.

I just bought a new Belkin N+ wireless modem router the best available from Belkin for now.
I bought the Belkin one since Belkin and Linksys are almost the same grade.
I changed because my new housemate could not connect to the Linksys one, I thought
by changing the modem it would be solved, but it didn't, it was a problem with his laptop.

I could not find any newer Linksys All-in-One here in miri.
Actually i prefer the Linksys as compared to the Belkin one since there are more options
in the settings and is much easier to set.

Hope that helps.
Thanks

Wow. Thanks for the sharing. Yeah. I support Belkin too. Their Unlimited warranty really attracts me. Your linksys is really good then. Did some online research on your model and according to them v1 and v2 (2005 - 2006) has tremendous heat issues and they fried up. But if yours could last for 3 years, I suppose it's not bad.

What laptop and wireless adapter is your friend using? I know my Dell Studio sometimes has some problems with the intel wireless adapter integrated inside. =(.

For example after i put it to sleep and "wake" it up again, i have to on and off the wireless adapter. Sometimes I have to reset it. =\. I asked dell to changed but they said it could work perfectly. =\.
